The WPT London has a brand-new winner

British poker player Jake Cody added a new title to his career, he recently won the European Poker Tour Deauville, by winning the World Poker Tour London Poker Classic main event. Cody won the top prize of £273,783 and also the chance to win poker’s Triple Crown, because all he needs now is a World Series of Poker bracelet.

The inaugural World Poker Tour London was the sensation at the Mayfair Palm Beach Casino. British phenomenon Jake Cody, continued on his great poker year with a victory on this WPT, and on the £15.000 High-Rollers championship, Justin ‘BoostedJ’ Smith got the victory after an epic 13 hours game.

WPT commentator Mike Sexton had good comments about the young player: Jake Cody is an outstanding young player and mark my words when you see this action on television this final table is something very special. I rate it is amongst the best poker I have seen in nine years commentating for the WPT. This is going to be a real treat when it airs, I can hardly wait.”

Cody, Kristoffer Thorsson and other six players at the final poker table, had to survive to four preliminary days. Day 1A started with an honorable presentation of Erik Seidel, for his WPT main event number 100. Seidel celebrated the event being the chip leader of the day, but he could get to day two. The tournament registration was open until first level on day two but just five players took advantage of the offer.
