US poker player Eric Seidel was the winner of the Aussie Millions $250K Super High Roller, a tournament that made history as the one with the largest entrance fee ever. “I’m really, really excited to win this. This was very special because it’s such an elite field. The entry fee was so big, I didn’t want to lose $250,000. I’m just having such an amazing month, year so far. It’s just incredible,” Seidel commented.
It really has been a great month for Seidel as he earned a total of $3.46 million only in January, which puts him in third position on poker All Time Money List. He ended fourth at the PCA $25k High Roller Event with a prize of $295,960 and third at the Aussie Millions $10k NL Event where he won $618,139.
Some of the poker players who took part in the poker event included famous players like Andrew Feldman, John Juanda, Tom Dwan, Sam Trickett, Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, Daniel Cates, Annette Obrestad, Roland de Wolfe and Chris Ferguson. The heads-up saw Seidel and Sam Trickett playing for the main prize.
Sam Trickett had a 5 to 1 advantage and things did not look easy for Seidel. “It didn’t look good and it didn’t feel good,” Seidel commented. “I thought well, I’m obviously not laying down. I’ll sit and play and hope things go well and then they did.” Eventually, Seidel managed to succeed and take home the poker title.
